A present from my fur boy

Jasper is a natural born snake charmer. He finds them in the basement, no matter where they are in the basement and then he gently carries them upstairs to share with me. I hated to put this one outside because it was kind of a cold day, but he couldn't stay inside. Japser searched everywhere for that snake, he just couldn't figure out where it went...poor little fur dude.

organic and inorganic

Every morning I go to work and this view of tree and building meets me. I love the juxtaposition of the branches and concrete.

It's storm season!

I do love a good thunderstorm!

self portraits in training

well at least part of me is in the pic
and a little more
too much - nice shot of the cat box though

It's bad enough if you don't like having your photo taken, but taking your own picture (for theoretical personal growth reasons) is a TOTAL BEAR!

Buildings and Light

The Mill using the zoom, about 1mi away
From same spot with more 'zoom'

The grain elevator down the road
I love the look of these huge, sprawling structures. The way shadows and light play on them endlessly intrigues me. These were taken on the same day within minutes of each other, but their look is so different, the light and location make the changes seem radical to me. Since I'm a total know nothing when it comes to F-stops, speeds and all that technical camera talk, I just keep my camera set on 'auto', it works best for me.

one month ago

From left to right: Iris, Lily and Fern
Nebraska has the most whacked weather. Yesterday was 70, now they're calling for 'winter conditions' for tomorrow and possibly through the week. Oh well, it makes life interesting to say the least!

Finally got the pics of the valentine's I made this year for work.

My boy in the fur coat

Jasper will turn 3 this year, it goes so fast! He is just as funny and entertaining as when he was 5 months old. Here he is in a 'meditative' mood.

It's all about birds

On sunny days the sparrows like to congregate on the branch compost boxes...
And on the 'trees and bushes' that grow in the alley along the fence.
Then there is the question of who is in charge of the backyard.
Obviously Iris thinks she is and Jasper tends to agree...
He's been chased by Iris before and it's pretty funny to watch!
But he tries to be 'cool' about it all the same.

Winter cold and Warm knitting

Though we haven't had lots of snow it's been bitter cold more days than not. So to keep me happy on the gray days I either sleep, eat or create. This is how I've been spending the majority of my cold days and nights - knitting. If you'd like to make some of these darling 'dead' fish hats check out the pattern here. I have some great nephews and great neices excited to get these.
Also, I've added a new chick to the 'flock'. This is Lily. She has settled in nicely, though Fern did get a wee bit huffy at the intro.
